Your First Visit
For those of you who will be joining our family of patients, welcome! At your first visit, Dr. Schweiger is going to spend some extra time with you; as much time as you need. However, this comes at absolutely NO extra charge to you. Dr. Schweiger simply wants to ensure that you are comfortable with her, and that she is able to answer every question you have about your oral health.
At Rice Creek Family Dentistry, our goal is for families in the Columbia, SC community to develop and maintain healthy smiles through preventative and restorative dentistry. Good oral health leads to improved quality of life and has been linked with better overall mental and physical health. At your first visit, Dr. Schweiger will also give you tips and advice on how to properly care for your smile so that you may realize a better quality of life through maintaining excellent oral health.
For patients 18 and older, your visit will also include a Comprehensive New Patient Exam (including a Periodontal Evaluation and TMD evaluation), Full Mouth Series of X-rays, Oral Cancer Screening, Oral Health and Nutritional Education, Discussion of Treatment Needs (as well as patient concerns, questions, elective dental treatment, and oral health goals).
For patients 18 and under, your visit will also include a Comprehensive New Patient Exam, X-rays, Dental Cleaning, Fluoride Treatment, Oral Health and Nutritional Education, and Discussion of your child's Treatment Needs (as well as parent/guardian questions and concerns).

We understand that you may be receiving a lot of information at your first appointment pertaining to improving your oral health as well as information on the different dental treatments and procedures. We promise to provide you with as much easy-to-understand information as possible in order for you to be able to make an informed decision on what best fits your treatment needs, your personal health, your appearance, and your lifestyle.

Payment Options
Our Goal
To help remove financial barriers so our patients can receive the dental care they need and desire. Prior to scheduling any treatment, we are happy to provide patients with an estimate of costs.
Insurance Friendly
We accept nearly all forms of dental insurance. As a courtesy to our patients, we minimize your out-of-pocket expenses by filing your dental insurance claims for you, and "accepting assignment" of your benefits. This means that at the time of treatment you are only responsible for paying the estimated difference between our fee for your procedure(s) and the maximum fee that your insurance company will cover. You will always be provided with this estimated charge prior to your appointment, and we will always work to ensure that you receive maximum benefits from your insurance company.
Payment Methods
Patients with dental insurance are required to pay their estimated portion of fees for their procedure(s) at the time of treatment. Patients without dental are insurance are required to pay the full balance of fees for their procedure(s) at the time of treatment, and will receive a 5% discount provided they do so. Forms of payment accepted include cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard and American Express. We also offer flexible, interest free financing options through CareCredit because we understand that monthly payments can help patients fit the costs of dental treatment into their budgets.their budgets.
